Innovation at every turn
The driving force of each of our electric cars is the innovative BYD Blade Battery. Recognised as one of the world’s safest EV batteries, our battery has passed rigorous safety tests and is designed to maximise strength, range, and life cycle.
Each of our electric car benefits from BYD’s all-new e-Platform 3.0 structure, designed to enhance the vehicle’s strength, safety, and overall driving experience.
We also created the world’s first mass-produced 8-in-1 electric powertrain, designed to optimise the space and energy efficiency of all our vehicles. Wherever you’re going, you can rely on BYD to get you there.
Going the distance
Whether you’re popping to the shops or taking a longer trip, the range offered by our electric cars has you covered - up to 354 miles on a single charge.*
Need to top up? BYD electric cars can be charged at a variety of different electric car chargers. Rapid and fast public chargers are great if you need a quick boost of power before you get back out on the road.
Slow chargers, usually found at home charging points, are a great option to charge your car when you don’t plan on using it, such as overnight while you’re asleep.

FAQs
How long does it take to charge a BYD Electric Car?
We get it, you’re busy. That’s why each BYD electric car can be charged quickly so you can get back out on the road again.
Charging times from 30% to 80% using a DC charger:
• BYD ATTO 3 - 29 minutes
• BYD DOLPHIN - 28 minutes
• BYD SEAL - 26 minutes
At home charging times from 0-100% using an 11KW AC charger:
• BYD ATTO 3: 6hr 30 minutes
• BYD DOLPHIN: 6h 12 minutes
• BYD SEAL: TBC
*Charging times may vary depending on the version of the model you choose.
How long the battery of BYD lasts before it needs charging again?
Our BYD Blade Battery is designed to extend the range of your electric car. Here’s how many miles you’ll get from each of our electric cars (based on WLTP tests):
BYD ATTO 3: 260 miles
BYD DOLPHIN: 265 miles
BYD SEAL: 354 miles
It’s worth noting that the actual miles you receive from a single charge will vary based on your driving conditions including your driving style. Most people will charge their car before their remaining charge hits 0% too, which will reduce the number of miles you can travel on a single charge.
Where can I charge my electric car?
As electric cars have grown in popularity, EV charging points are now widely available across the UK. Public charging points are available where you can pay to charge your vehicle. Some businesses and workplaces may allow you to charge your electric car for free during your stay.
You’ll also have the option to charge your electric car at home. You can do this via a standard three-pin plug, although this is the slowest way to charge your vehicle. If you plan on charging your vehicle at home, we recommend having a home EV charger installed which can charge your car up to three times faster than a standard home socket.
Are electric cars more expensive to buy?
On average, electric cars are more expensive to buy outright. However, BYD electric cars are different. We offer some of the most affordable electric vehicles on the market, without scrimping on technology or build quality.
Are BYD electric cars manual or automatic?
All BYD electric cars are automatic. This is a common standard across the EV market as electric cars don’t require gears or a clutch to power the vehicle. As a result, there are only two pedals: the accelerator and the brake.
Does using the aircon or heaters in an electric car reduce its range?
With many electric cars, using the aircon in the summer or heaters in the winter will reduce your car’s range. But BYD electric cars are different.
Our electric cars feature a high-efficiency heat pump system as standard, designed to utilise and repurpose lost heat from the surroundings, powertrain and batteries. This technology is effective; during the Norwegian Automobile Federation (NAF) winter test, BYD Tang was found to lose the least range against the stated WLTP range, despite the sub-zero conditions.
